Coupling innovative ideas with
realistic solutions has been a hallmark of Concept from its inception.
We love what we do and it comes out in our work. Each project is tailored
not only fit its local surroundings, but also take into consideration
the geography as a whole. Working in a broad area has resulted in
a true learning approach to each job. The project locale, neighborhood,
and community are always studied. This knowledge is incorporated into
each design to create a solution meeting client needs in relation
to the project environment.
Listening is the key to understanding
and solving problems. We begin each project by learning about the
project program, the client’s ideas and the reasons behind them. Getting
a feel for the users - the family, the staff, the congregation, enables
us to provide spaces that serve their purpose, are aesthetically pleasing
and fit the budget. There are always decisions along the way. Many
of these are budget trade-offs. We are adamant that good design is
not necessarily tied to construction cost. A well designed building
encompasses a good layout, circulation system with comfortable relationships
between rooms and a good general composition that satisfies the needs
of the occupants. Through the design process the client develops a
true “sense of ownership”; after all, it’s your concept.
